Matt Tobin

Biography

Matt Tobin serves as Vice Provost for Finance and Administration at Northeastern University, leading financial operations for the university’s academic and research enterprise. In this role, Matt oversees budgeting, forecasting and financial operations across the university’s colleges and the Office of the Provost, and provides strategic financial analysis to support the university’s academic and research mission. His work ensures that Northeastern’s academic leadership has the financial insight and infrastructure needed to make sound, forward-looking decisions.

Prior to this role, Matt served as Associate Dean of Administration and Finance at Northeastern’s College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH), where he oversaw the college’s fiscal management, human resources, space planning, and research administration. Before joining Northeastern, Matt spent over 13 years at Harvard University, working across academic departments, research centers, and central administration.

Matt holds an MBA from Boston College and a BS from Babson College.
