Vice Provost for Finance and Administration

Biography

Matt has served as CSSH’s principal administrative and financial leader since 2015. In this time, Matt has contributed to the college’s success by ensuring sound fiscal management of the colleges resources and leading the college’s human resources, space, and research administration operations. He has implemented many new financial and administrative initiatives that have positively impacted the college including the staff development initiative, which resulted in the creation of the CSSH staff awards, the first ever all-staff retreat, and multiple staff development workshops and networking opportunities.

Matt also led the planning and implementation of many transformative space projects at the college including the relocation of three departments to Renaissance Park and establishing the physical presence of the NULab for Texts, Maps and Networks, the Global Resilience Institute, and the Center for Crime and Community Resilience. Before joining Northeastern, Matt spent over 13 years at Harvard University, spanning all parts of the institution including academic departments, research centers and central administration. Matt holds an MBA from Boston College and a BS from Babson College.
