Anthony L. Rini was appointed Interim Executive Vice Provost in August 2021. In this role, he serves as a strategist, advisor and executor for the Provost, and provides the day-to-day leadership – as well as the strategic planning and oversight – of all functional areas of the office, including communications, budget and planning, human resources (non-faculty), external reporting, and major academic facilities projects.
Dr. Rini also serves as the Vice President for Administration and Financial Planning. He is responsible for leadership and oversight of Facilities, Campus Planning and Real Estate, Human Resources, and long-term financial planning, with a particular focus on driving innovation and transformational change. Previously serving as the Senior Vice Provost for Budget, Planning and Administration from 2011-2017, he was principle in implementing Northeastern’s hybrid budget model, as well as repositioning and rebranding the institutional research and budget office functions. Dr. Rini holds a Master of Public Administration from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a doctoral degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania.
